One of our reliable sources for mockery exists in the voter polls put forth by statheads at ESPN and by whatever moose with a Mountie hat they've put in charge of TSN. Of course for ESPN, it's been a while since they've updated their public queries; within the last three they've asked us if the Flyers' goalie changes in the Cup Final are a distraction. But TSN support a nation of puckheads and keeps the content fresh.
Even if their questions make little sense whatsoever.

Ok, decent question. Often, Stanley Cup winning teams are made not because of high-priced and flashy signings (take notes, Rangers), but rather with important puzzle pieces further down the salary chart. And what's more, TSN recognizes this point and includes several people that fit those descriptions - the fact that 772 people even know who Manny Malhotra is is indeed impressive. But even so, I ask TSN this:
How the hell is Paul Martin an under the radar signing?
Martin is going to the Pittsburgh Penguins, a team so popular that by the end of the season they will have played in 50% of the league's New Year's Day Winter Classic. Martin was brought in to replace Sergei Gonchar, a major name in the league who left for Ottawa. Martin was listed by many outlets as one of the Top 3 Defensemen in Free Agency. The other 2? One was Gonchar, and the other was Anton Volchenkov, who New Jersey had to sign in order to REPLACE PAUL MARTIN.
Also, he signed a 5 year, 25 MILLION DOLLAR CONTRACT. I can't even calculate how many radars you can buy for that kind of cash. So of course he's going to win this poll, TSN. Hell, he can afford an entire team of people who do nothing but vote for him.
Also, we have a new poll up in the sidebar. Check it out.
